This Week May 16th – May 20th
**NOTE FROM RCMP LIASON**
Over the last month we are seeing an increase of bicyle thefts; no matter the size or the description; bikes are being stolen from businesses, parking areas, parks and side streets. Stolen bikes are generally not recovered and are used for a means of transportation for other criminal activity. The resale of stolen bikes, through means such as Craigslist, is very common.
See full bulletin here: Langley RCMP Bulletin
**NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL REGARDING PARKING LOT USE**
A quick notice to parents that a number of parking complaints have come forward from the community and our RCMP liaison has been on site to assist. A quick reminder to parents to ensure that posted parking sign requirements are met, ensure crosswalks are being used and please keep driveways and staff parking accessible.
Please follow the guidelines and help out as our parking lot can be very busy. Adhering to the rules keeps everyone safe! Thank you for your help!
Dear Langley Meadows Families,
The school year is almost over and busy parents/caregivers like you have already begun planning your summer vacation. So why not enjoy it with family and take some of the “back to school” shopping stress off your plate by ordering your children’s school supplies now.
As a school and PAC we have listened to your comments and frustrations with buying school supplies. So we have come up with a new pilot program that will make the whole process easier for those who wish to get it done and out of the the way now.
Pre order school supplies for your child for classroom delivery September 2016. That’s right!! No more fighting crowds, standing in line-ups, and running around to multiple stores.
**Please note: Headphones & USB/memory sticks are not included in these packages, as not everyone requires them. If your child needs these items they can be bought independently.
Please find all the details below and if you require further information we can be contacted at email@example.com.

Message from The Community Liaison Officer at Metro Vancouver Regional District:
To meet the growing demand for drinking water, Metro Vancouver needs to construct a new, above-ground reservoir at 20400 – 73A Avenue in Langley, in the same location as the existing Jericho Hill water tank. This project will also include new infrastructure such as a valve chamber and associated pipes to connect the reservoir to our water mains. We are currently in the process of designing the new reservoir with construction anticipated to begin in late 2017/early 2018.
In addition to the reservoir and its associated infrastructure, the Township of Langley is looking to construct a park with recreational facilities on the roof of the new reservoir. The park, Smith View Park, is part of the Township’s Smith Neighbourhood Plan. Both Metro Vancouver and the Township of Langley are looking for input on the reservoir’s architectural features and plans for Smith View Park during the detailed design phase of the project. On May 19, 2016, Metro Vancouver will be hosting an open house for the Jericho Reservoir project at Willoughby Elementary School from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
